Arun Bansal, the CEO of Adani Airports, has stated that the company intends to expand its operations by bidding for more airports in India. This is part of the company’s broader objective of becoming the leading airport operator in the country. Adani Airports has already won the mandate to modernize and operate six airports in India in the previous round of airport privatization by the government. These airports include Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Jaipur, Guwahati, and Thiruvananthapuram.
The Indian government is planning to privatize about a dozen more airports in the country over the next few years. In light of this, Bansal has confirmed that Adani Airports will participate in the bidding process for these airports. He made this announcement while speaking to the media on the sidelines of the CAPA India Aviation Summit 2023, which was held in Delhi.
The Adani Group has been expanding its presence in various sectors, including airports, ports, and renewable energy. The company has been aggressively bidding for infrastructure projects in India in recent years. With the acquisition of additional airports, Adani Airports is likely to strengthen its position in the Indian aviation industry.
