On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced that he will be attending the India-Africa Army Chiefs’ Conclave in Pune, which is scheduled for Tuesday. The inaugural edition of the conclave will be held on March 28-29, as part of ‘AFINDEX 23‘, according to the Army. Singh tweeted, “Tomorrow, 28th March, I shall be in Pune, Maharashtra. Shall address the India-Africa Army Chiefs’ Conclave in Pune. Also, looking forward to interact with the students of Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, during the Pune visit.”

The Indian Army also shared a poster of the conclave on Twitter, which stated that defence chiefs and representatives of 31 African nations will attend the event to strengthen defence and regional cooperation.

In a separate statement on Monday, the Ministry of Defence announced that Navratna Defence PSU Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) presented its second interim dividend cheque for Rs. 224,27,53,160.40 to Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on March 27, 2023. BEL has declared 60% as Second Interim Dividend (Rs. 0.60 per share) to its shareholders for the financial year 2022 – 23. It has paid interim dividends for the last 20 years consecutively. In February 2023, BEL had paid its shareholders 60% as the First Interim Dividend (Rs. 0.60 per share) for the financial year 2022–23, and it had paid a total dividend of 450% on its paid-up capital for the financial year 2021–22.
