Telangana CM announces financial aid for farmers affected by crop damage due to untimely rains and hailstorms

The Chief Minister of Telangana and leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K Chandrashekhar Rao, instructed officials on Tuesday to provide financial assistance to farmers whose crops were damaged by untimely rains and hailstorms. During a review meeting, CM KCR announced that farmers would receive Rs 10,000 compensation per acre for damaged crops, which will be directly deposited into their bank accounts. The CM also urged officials to provide financial assistance to the poor for house construction and other matters.

To address the recent crop damage, CM KCR visited affected farmers and directed district Collectors to conduct surveys with local Agricultural officers to gather information about the damage and submit it to the government. In addition, the CM ordered officials to begin the second phase of the Sheep Distribution Programme and to purchase and distribute sheep according to official procedures.

To help those eligible to construct houses in their open plots, CM KCR asked Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari to take steps towards providing Rs 3 lakh in financial assistance. He also reviewed the issuance of pattas for Podu lands and announced that the authorities are ready to distribute pass books to 1,55,000 eligible people covering 4 lakh acres.

On the occasion of Sri Rama Navami, CM KCR granted Rs 1 crore from the Chief Minister’s Special Fund to organize the Sri Sitarama Kalyana Mahotsavam at Bhadrachalam on March 30. The CM directed officials to organize the event on a grand scale and participated in the review meeting with several officials, including Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari and Special Chief Secretary to Finance Department Ramakrishna Rao.
