On Saturday, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s remark of filing cases against CBI and ED officials. Rijiju questioned whether Kejriwal would also file a case against the court if it convicts him.

He further added that the law should be allowed to take its own course, and everyone must believe in the rule of law. Rijiju posted on Twitter, “Forgot to mention that you will file a case against Hon’ble court also if it convicts you. Let law take its own course & we must believe in the rule of law.”

In response, Kejriwal tweeted on the same day that they would file appropriate cases against CBI and ED officials for perjury and producing false evidence in courts. Addressing a press conference in the national capital, Kejriwal said that he would attend the questioning on April 16 by CBI, after the probe agency issued him a summons a day ago in connection with the excise policy case.

Kejriwal alleged that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had falsely accused former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the liquor policy case. People were beaten to obtain false statements, and agencies were torturing people for evidence. He added that this was a great policy to eradicate corruption. Sisodia, a key aide of Kejriwal, is currently in jail over alleged irregularities in the excise policy case. He was arrested by the ED and CBI in the ongoing investigation of a case related to alleged irregularities in the framing and implementation of the excise policy in Delhi.
